Welcome at BrowserChess!
Here you play online chess.

You play white, BrowserChess plays black.
To play:
1. click a white piece,
2. click the target field,
3. click Move. 
Instead of clicking Move, you can also right-click somewhere on the board.

BrowserChess plays 
'lightweight' chess. 
It calculates a move 
in a few seconds.

Please sign on to:
- save and load games. 
- have your results listed in the hall of fame.
To sign on just enter a name and a password.

The result of a game is not listed in the hall of fame:
- if you setup a chessboard.
- if you take back a move.
- if you play a loaded a game.
And a game can only end in checkmate or stalemate. Draws are not supported.

You can set the level at the start of a game. You cannot change the level
during a game.  At level 1 BrowserChess plays a bit less offensive.

BrowserChess is provided 'as is', without warranty of any kind.
